Workshop overview

The aim of this third workshop on Non-monotonic reasoning is to bring together active researchers from different academic institutions who share a common interest in this topic, including knowledge representation, belief revision, reasoning about actions, planning, logic programming, causality, and other related topics.

The first LANMR workshop was held in 2004 at Mexico City. Since then LANMR workshop has been an international forum where the Latin American non monotonic reasoning community meets together for presenting and discussing the research and development carried out all around the world. You are invited to participate in the third LANMR Workshop, to be held September 17-19, 2007 at the Facultad de Ciencias Fisico Matemáticas, Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) in Puebla, Mexico.

Authors are invited to submit papers presenting original and unpublished research in all areas related to logic and computation. Suggested topics include but are not limited to:

• Logic programming and nonmonotonic reasoning

• Answer Set Programming

• Knowledge representation

• Belief representation

• Paraconsistent logics

• Deduction techniques

• Automated reasoning

• Non-classical logics

• Reasoning about situations and actions

• Multi-agent systems

• Preferences

• Default and abductive reasoning

• Well-founded semantics

• Cognitive agents

• Novel applications

• Natural language

• Argumentation

The proceedings of LANMR07 Workshop will be published in the proceedings of LANMR07 Workshop in CEUR Workshop Proceedings (CEUR-WS.org) that is a publication service of Sun SITE Central Europe operated under the umbrella of RWTH Aachen University with the support of Tilburg University. CEUR-WS.org is recognized as a publication series by Deutsche Bibliothek, ISSN 1613-0073.

Aim and scope

The aims of the workshop are:

• to present innovative theoretical work and original applications of NMR,

• to exchange ideas and to facilitate interaction between researchers in NMR,

• to discuss significant recent achievements in the theory and automation of NMR,

• to present critical short and long term goals for NMR,

• to discuss significance of NMR to knowledge representation and AI in general,

to provide a forum for students to present their current research and receive feedback from other students and researchers.
